PCRA Needs Your Support!

Pelham Community Rowing Association (“PCRA”) is a 501 (c) (3) organization founded by a group of generous, dedicated and enthusiastic rowers (and parents) in Pelham, NY. PCRA aims to make rowing accessible, affordable and fun.
PCRA relies on two sources of income: rowing fees and fundraising activities. The rowing fees are low and therefore do not meet all of the operating costs and capital expenses of our program. Our fundraising efforts, therefore, are extremely important to sustain the growth and success of our program.

The lifeblood of PCRA is Brian Brunelle, our executive director. Brian is responsible for the day-to-day operations - he coaches, oversees other coaches, safety matters, and all administrative expenses, and is the backbone of the program. In addition to the salary of the executive directory, other operating costs include equipment repairs and maintenance, coaching and administrative fees, regatta fees, travel expenses and insurance costs. Capital expenses include new equipment purchases (shells, engines, oars, etc.) as well as the construction and maintenance of our new boathouse.

To date, PCRA has hosted a number of successful fundraising activities including cocktail and dinner parties, ergathons and raffles.

Events planned for 2008 are as follows:

PCRA raises additional funds by selling Team Apparel, including splash jackets, unisuits, racing shirts, t-shirts, socks, hats and sweatbands, at all PCRA sign-ups and events. Use this Team Apparel order form to buy gear and support PCRA.

PCRA has also instituted a Boat-Naming Program in which individuals, families or companies wishing to make a donation to PCRA may designate a name for a shell. The levels of giving for this program are as follows: Singles: $1,000; Doubles: $1,500; Quads/Fours: $2,500; Eights: $5,000. If you are interested, please call Jane Carmody at …. The long term stability of PCRA depends in part on our ability to raise funds for a new PCRA Boathouse.
