PCRA Needs Your Support!

Pelham Community Rowing Association (“PCRA”) is a 501 (c) (3) organization founded by a group of generous, dedicated and enthusiastic rowers and friends in Westchester County, New York. PCRA aims to make rowing accessible, affordable and fun.

PCRA relies on two sources of income: rowing fees and fundraising activities. The program fees and additional funds collected throughout the year are used to pay for both operating expenses and capital expenditures. Operating costs include equipment repairs and maintenance, coaching and administrative fees, regatta fees, travel expenses and insurance costs. Capital expenses include new equipment purchases (shells, engines, oars, etc.) as well as the construction and maintenance of our new boathouse.

PCRA is committed to keeping our program fees modest and affordable. These fees do not meet all of the operating costs and capital expenses of our program. Our fundraising efforts, therefore, are extremely important to sustain the growth and success of our program. Throughout the year, PCRA hosts a variety of fundraising events, such as cocktail and dinner parties, ergathons and raffles.

The long term stability of PCRA depends in part on our ability to raise funds for a new PCRA Boathouse. Our boathouse capital campaign has been extremely successful in raising the funds necessary to build our new boathouse, presently scheduled for completion in mid-2009. The final fundraising event planned for the new boathouse is the "Drive to the Finish" Boathouse Gala on April 25, 2009. PCRA also raises additional funds by selling Team Apparel, including splash jackets, unisuits, racing shirts, t-shirts, socks, hats and sweatbands, at all PCRA sign-ups and events. Use this Team Apparel order form to buy gear and support PCRA.

PCRA has instituted a Boat-Naming Program in which individuals, families or companies wishing to make a donation to PCRA may designate a name for a shell. The levels of giving for this program are as follows: Singles: $1,000; Doubles: $1,500; Quads/Fours: $2,500; Eights: $5,000. We have the ability to inscribe the insignia of your alma mater or the logo of your company on the boat or oars.
